The Artist

​

  I am an artist, expressive arts therapist and educator deeply commited to nurturing individual and collective growth through creativity. I have been designing and facilitating creative processes with schools, communities, and individuals for over a decade thoughout the US, Central America and China.  

  My work uses a myriad of expressive resources, including community murals and therapeutic drumming, to promote healing, dialogue and transformation.

  In my personal artwork I am fascinated by the layers of textures and colors that evolve and reveal themselves when paint peals and when the impact of time, socio-political realities and culture, shape what we see, hear and experience.  I use photography, paint, collage, clay, music and other accessible materials to interpret these changes and to explore the metaphors they embody.

 

Current murals and arts initiatives exist in China, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Kenya, Somerville, Cambridge and Chelsea.
